So,  what is the nu skin scam? Well, as indicated above, this is not a scam but rather one of the MLM (Multi-level Marketing) programs out there who are into producing and selling personal care products and dietary supplements (under the Pharmanex brand).

Nu Skin was founded way back in the year  1984 by co-founders such as; Blake Roney, Steve Lund, Sandra N. Tillotson and Nedra Roney in Provo, Utah. Although the company originated in the U.S, it also began its first foreign operation in Canada in the year 1990.

About NU Skin Founders

Nu skin, as shown above, has about four (4) co-founders, however, I’m going to give you a brief background about three (3) most prominent persons of this NU Skin MLM program.

Blake M. Roney – Founder

Blake Roney is one of the founders of the company and served as its president and CEO from 1984 until 1996, and as the

Blake M. Roney

company’s chairman of the board from 1984 to 2012.  Nu Skin Enterprises is said to be one of the largest direct selling companies in the world today, and its products are sold throughout the Americas, Europe and the Asia Pacific region. The company’s stock is publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange.

Quoting directly from their website, it is said that;  “Roney’s business and civic achievements are numerous and include recognition by the International Business Awards as the 2009 Chairman of the Year, a 2011 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award program for the Utah region,

Also, in  2004 he was an honour as one of the 100 Most Influential People in Utah, recent recognition as The Utah County Chamber of Commerce 2011 Pillar of the Valley Award, Chief of Mtalimanja Village in Malawi, Africa and an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters degree from Salt Lake Community College”.

Additionally, “Roney earned an academic degree in business finance from Brigham Young University’s Marriott School of Management in 1983. The father of eight children, he serves on several communities and university boards and is active in civic and religious organizations”.

Sandra N. Tillotson – Senior Vice President, Founder

Sandra Tillotson is a founder of Nu Skin. In 1984, Tillotson helped found the company, assisting in the development of the

Sandra N. Tillotson

original Nu Skin product line and the establishment of the company’s unique global marketing plan. Tillotson was also a member of the company’s Board of Directors until 2012. Her leadership has helped Nu Skin develop into a global multi-billion dollar anti-ageing company.

In the year 1993, Sandra Tillotson was named as one of the top 10 female business owners in the U.S by ‘Working Woman magazine’.

Also, in 2001, Feminine Fortunes magazine awarded Tillotson the honour of being one of just 50 “Women of the New Millennium” alongside Katie Couric, Oprah Winfrey, and Sandra Day O’Connor.

Moreover, in  2011, she was recognized as one of 30 Women to Watch by Utah Business magazine. In 2015, Sandra Tillotson was awarded the prestigious “Mover and Shaker Trailblazer Award” by the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) SLC Chapter for her inspiring leadership, hard work and service to the Utah community.

Additionally, Tillotson is also known to be involved in many philanthropic efforts. She is a trustee of the Nu Skin Force for Good Foundation, a private foundation established to improve the lives of children by offering them hope for a life free from disease, illiteracy and poverty.

Tillotson also serves as vice president of “Seacology”, an international environmental non-profit organization that focuses on saving endangered species, habitats and cultures of islands throughout the world. Tillotson holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Brigham Young University and taught in various Utah public schools.

Steven J. Lund – Executive Chairman of the Board, Executive Director of Nourish the Children.

Steven J. Lund is known to be the executive chairman of the board for Nu Skin Enterprises. He also serves as the executive

Steven J. Lund

director of the company’s Nourish the Children initiative, which has facilitated the donation of hundreds of millions of meals to malnourished children around the world.

Lund has also served in various other roles at the company including vice chairman of the board from 2006 to 2012 and president and the chief executive officer from 1996 to 2003. He also served as executive vice president of Nu Skin International.

Lund has served on the board of directors for the U.S. Direct Selling Association, and has participated in various civic and religious leadership roles; he served as chairman of the Utah Valley University board of trustees and was appointed to the Utah State Board of Regents in 2015.

So as you can see, Nu Skin has leaders with reputation, so this cannot be a scam MLM program, also they have been in the system for a longer pyramid of time.

Is NU Skin Compensation Plan Good for You?

Before we even dig deeper into NU Skin’s Compensation Plan and how it works, I will recommend you watch this video that gives a brief explanation of their business opportunity.

Well, let me explain things to you. According to NU Skin, if you enrol or sign up as their distributor, your task is to begin marketing NU Skin’s products and building your personal consumer base to earn retail profits and sales bonuses as shown below:

  1. You can earn up to 25% in retail profits on the product you sell to consumers.
  2. You can earn a 5%  bonus purchase of your personal enrolled consumers and distributors.

SO basically, as all MLM programs do, NU Skin will require you to sell their expensive products, so you’re are going to work as a direct seller in marketing their health care products. And let me tell you the truth.

If you’re not a skilful marketer and passionate about NU Skin’s products, then this opportunity is not good for you at all. I will say it is not the best option.

The reason is that NU Skin requires that you sell their products in other to be able to earn some money, so if you cannot convince people to buy their expensive products, then you cannot make any money out their program.

NOTE: It is estimated that almost 90% of all who try to make some money with MLM business opportunities fail and NU Skin is not an exception. So as I made it clear earlier, I do not recommend any MLM program.

The Video below is from a well-experienced entrepreneur who explains why MLM programs are not the best option for anyone who is interested in building a successful business online. WATCH IT.

So, as you heard from this video, you cannot make any real success with MLM programs and so if you really want to make some money online or work from your own comfort home, then NU Skin is not the best option for you.

Neither do I recommend any MLM program, because of their pyramid scheme compensation plan and the hassle you have to go through in other to sell their highly hyped and expensive products to be able to make some money.

And as all MLM programs do, according to NU Skin’s compensation plan, to qualify for any bonus, you must meet all active requirement in other to get paid all your bonuses.

In order words, to be able to receive any bonus from NU Skin, your account must always stay active, that by buying their products and selling them to be able to qualify.

Also, not only that but like all MLM companies do, NU Skin requires that you also go round looking for people to recruit them to join you on the platform so you can earn some money out of that join you did.

This especially a very difficult task, having to go rounds looking for people to recruit them, even your own friends may sometimes turn you down.

They will refuse to accept your offer and if try to force them, it could damage your friendship with them, since they are not interested in what you’re trying to introduce to them.

Below is a snapshot I took from NU Skin’s website about their pyramid scheme and how it works.

So there it is, as you can see clearly from the snapshot I took from their own website. As I have said, this is my personal opinion, MLM opportunities are not the best if you want to really make a successful and regular income.

The video below explains why I don’t recommend any MLM business opportunity or program to you. You won’t succeed with them, don’t try it.

Rather, there are more recommended programs out there through which you learn to build your own successful business online that will generate for you a regular income that you can really depend on for survival.

Not just that, some of these platforms can even help you to build a business that will give you all the time you need to take care of your family and even to plan some vacation trips since you works as your own boss online. Check my NO.1 Recommended Program Here. Not any MLM program.

For instance, notice the big differences between my NO. recommended program and that NU Skin Enterprise and choose for yourself which one you think is the best option.

Before we even move on, watch this video, which is another review on NU Skin, I think it will be very helpful to you.

Yes, anyone who is interested in building a successful business online should try Wealthy Affiliate as my best recommendation ever. The good news is that you do not need to pay anything in other to be able to join this great community platform.

It is absolutely free to join, Wealthy Affiliate has both Free Starter and Premium Membership, but the premium membership which you will pay is optional, you’re never forced to join.

Another good news is that, as a Free Starter Member, Wealthy Affiliate will teach you how to build your own two free websites that will be hosted on their platform free for you. NO Credit Card required. Yes and that is why I recommend it to you as the best option ever.

So, at this point, if you’re asked, “What is the NU Skin Scam? What will be your answer? Well, there is no doubt that you’ll agree with me that NU Skin is not a scam as I have made clear in this review,

However, if you’re interested in making money online with NU Skin then I’m sorry, it is not the best option for you. You may end up being a failure.

As I said, almost 90% of all who try MLM opportunities do fail. So it will be better you don’t try it and waste your money.
